Welcome Home, Pen and Ink & Digital — Nicolet Laursen

It's official! I have a traffic box wrap here in Boise. Go take a stroll down 27th street and you'll find it on the corner of 27th & Pleasanton Ave.

The 27th and Pleasanton traffic box is in an area full of parks and pedestrians. I had some fun drawing the intricate details of all the things you might encounter in this neighborhood. I enjoy drawing from the world around me, so I visited the traffic box for some initial sketches. I also referenced photos of the neighborhood as inspiration for the houses, cars, people and animals. I used a combination of traditional and digital drawing tools to create the repeating pattern. The final design captures the neighborhood’s heart with a whimsical and welcoming style.
